My Top 10 Spring Break Ideas

Here we are in Northern Indiana with kids on their Spring Break! So what do we do…  we get out & do a little Exploring! Here’s My Top 10 Spring Break Ideas!

  1. Ride the Carousel at Davis Mercantile – this 1906 Dentzel Carousel is always a treat, there’s something about the sound of the gears clicking as it goes round! Did you know?  – All the animals on the carousel are a representation of what is in Shipshewana- horses, chickens, cows, dogs, etc.
  2. The Tornado Room at the Menno Hof – Learn about the Mennonite & Amish culture in this interactive museum, board a 17th Century ship and experience the force of a Tornado! Hidden Gem – bring extra cash as this place has the cutest little gift shop (all locally made items too)!
  3. Heritage Ridge Creamery aka The Cheese Factory – Watch cheese being made (8am – noon weekdays) do a little taste testing & take some home!
  4.  Lotions & Potions – make your very own lotions & perfumes! I love the little roll ons, their perfect for my purse!
  5. JoJo’s Pretzels – watch these talented pretzel makers do their thing & enjoy a piping hot delicious pretzel! I like mine with no salt & spicy hot mustard! Mmm Mmm 
  6. Buggy Lane Tours – take a buggy ride out to a farm & feed the animals, I promise the kids will talk about this for days!!!
  7. Delt Church Park -bring your Frisbee & try your hand at the disc golf… not a Frisbee thrower, no biggie they have a massive playground area, seriously the kids will play on it till dark! picture credit: @itz.lavinnia

  8. Pumpkinvine Nature Trail  – bring the Bikes, this is one of the easiest trails to bike to the Dairy Queen in Middlebury (talk about a nice reward)!
  9. Yoder Popcorn Shoppe – Who doesn’t like Popcorn, popped fresh daily, enjoy a FREE sample & stock up on all the good oils & seasonings!
  10. POOL – Ok, we all know that Spring Break isn’t complete without a POOL… so splurge & stay over at one of our many hotels that has an indoor POOL, your kids will thank you!  Your Spring Break will sure to be a SUCCESS! Happy Spring Breaking!
