Guys: Here’s Your Christmas Shopping List

Dear Special Man:

I’m really quite easy to buy for at Christmas. I don’t want small appliances, or large appliances for that matter. I don’t want anything that implies or resembles “work.”

I want indulgence, not expensive. I want thought, not impulse. I want to sing, “You make me feel like a natural woman.”

And to help, here’s a list of stores you can choose from and visit:

Annalea’s Boutique, Shipshewana: Anything from here will make me happy. If you need options narrowed, I wouldn’t mind trying this jacket on for size.

Along The Pumpkinvine, Shipshewana: They have soap, jewelry, cute things for the home. One of my favorite things is their line of unrefined sea salts, rubs, and naturally-flavored sugars from S.A.L.T. sisters, a local company.

Cornucopia, Shipshewana: I really like this cell phone purse!

The Silver Lantern, Shipshewana: The scarves and necklaces are very inexpensive here. Plus, Arlene, the owner, will kindly package things nicely so you won’t have to.

Classic Jewelers, Shipshewana: Any girl loves BLING. Their not-so-expensive prices just might surprise you, too.

Options, Shipshewana: You’ll have lots of “options” for hats here, and the sales associates are great help. Hint: Think the color of my eyes in choosing a hat.

Yarn and supplies from D’Vine, Shipshewana, or Knitting Today, LaGrange: I especially like these yarn bowls to help keep my yarn from getting knotted. Plus, they’re made by a local potter.

Tea/Coffee from The Kitchen Cupboard or Red Bud Gift Shop & Coffee Tea Café, Shipshewana: You know how grumpy I am when I don’t have my morning coffee. Flavored, please. And fresh. And strong…just like you.

Candles from “B” Honey, Shipshewana: These candles are local, and they won’t drip on that new tablecloth your mother just purchased for me.

Brighton Cologne at Sarah Davis, Ltd., Shipshewana: Any fragrance will do. Choose the one that won’t make you sneeze.

Scrapbooking supplies from The Scrapyard, Shipshewana: Start with a nice selection of Christmas supplies for this year’s photos.

Beads from Gierek’s Beads, Shipshewana: They have SO MUCH to choose from, maybe just a gift card will do for my stocking, and I will go in and choose my beads.

Art from Kingsbury House Gallery, Howe: Look around our home for what I like, and then tell Linda Chase, the director. She will set you up just fine.

Quilting Supplies from The Cotton Corner, Shipshewana, Homespun Treasures, LaGrange: Oh. My. Word. Their selection is out of this world! Just close your eyes and point.

Dining Room Table from Wana Cabinets, Shipshewana: They’re quite nice here, and picture that Christmas ham sitting in the middle of a new table. Gotta’ love it!

There you go, Dear Man. I’ve taken the guesswork all out of your shopping. Now you can subtract 20 more minutes from your 45-minute shopping excursion.

And remember, when the wife’s happy, everybody’s happy!

Sincerely,
Your Favorite Gal
