Explore LaGrange LogoLaGrange, the county seat, is the quintessential small town, but has wonderful surprises. With a population of 2,775 people, this town combines midwestern charm, historical sites, outdoor fun, and impressive cuisine. The County Courthouse, built in 1878, is listed on the National Register of Historical Places, and if you’re a history buff, step inside to check out the historical artifacts and read the placards telling the story of the town.

Things to Do

LaGrange is home to three murals, located on the main stretch of downtown. Fine the Welcome to LaGrange mural, the beautiful sepia-toned history mural, and don’t leave before taking a selfie with Betsy & Molly at the Lonestar Quilt Mural. Take a hike through Maple Wood Nature Preserve where you can enjoy 2 miles of trails for views of birds, wildflowers, and 40 species of trees.

Eat & Drink

The really delicious treasures in LaGrange are the dining opportunities! First plan some evening meals on what we call “Restaurant Row” featuring Fireside Craft Burgers & Brews, Linder’s Tavern on Main, Destination 814, and Five Star Pizza. If you want some tasty desserts or breakfast pastries, stop at Foltz Bakery specializing in the legendary diamond donut! In the summer, sit outside and take in the view at Lucy’s Vedie Twist, a roadside ice-cream stand with unbelievable sweet treats and light lunch options.
