Looking for something to do this weekend for the holiday? Grab the family and head to Indiana Amish Country! From Amish homestyle cooking and shopping off the beaten path to visiting the Midwest’s Largest Flea Market and enjoying the outdoors.

Midwest’s Largest Flea Market is OPEN!

The Shipshewana Flea Market is open every week (seasonally) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so it just makes sense to turn it into a 3-day Flea Market for Memorial Day, when many people have the day off from work and want to spend time with friends or family. So, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of the coming week, the Largest Flea Market in the Midwest will be open 8 am – 4 pm daily, for your holiday shopping convenience. You may need to shop all three days if you intend to visit all of the over 700 booths!

Menno-Hof Amish & Mennonite Story building

Experience Amish Culture first-hand

A recommended tourist stop is to visit Menno-Hof. This informational museum shares a narrated history of Anabaptism and how the religion eventually became the Amish and Mennonite cultures that we know today. See and hear the Amish-Mennonite story through multimedia presentations, historical environments, and colorful displays. Don’t miss the gift shop, which is full of handmade items crafted by locals.

Off the Beaten Path is a self-guided tour and map that explores Amish communities and small towns in LaGrange County. It offers a flexible, anytime experience where you can visit shops, farms, historic sites, and local eateries, though Amish businesses are closed on Sundays. Along the way, you’ll encounter barn quilts, buggies, roadside stands, and scenic spots. For added insight, a narrated audio version is available on CD, USB, or Spotify, featuring history, facts, and local folklore.

New FREE Things to do!
