Staying at SheWana Tiny Home Village in Shipshewana Indiana

by Visit Shipshewana | Jun 23, 2026 | Family Friendly Destination, Places to Stay

If you're looking for a relaxing place to stay in Indiana Amish Country, I recently discovered a hidden gem just outside downtown Shipshewana. During my visit, I stayed at Serene Sanctuary at SheWana Tiny Home Village, and it was exactly what I needed: a peaceful retreat where I could slow down, enjoy the countryside, and experience the simple beauty of Indiana  Amish Country.

One of the things I loved most about this property is its location. It's less than a mile from Shipshewana's shops, restaurants, theaters, and attractions, making it easy to explore the area. Yet despite being so close to town, the setting feels quiet and secluded. One minute I was browsing local quilt shops and Amish markets, and the next I was relaxing in a rocking chair on the porch watching sheep, goats, ponies, and a horse grazing in the pasture behind the tiny homes.

The moment I arrived, I immediately felt relaxed. The tiny home village has been thoughtfully designed to create a comfortable and stress-free stay. Parking is easy, the homes are conveniently located just steps from your vehicle, and the entire property encourages you to slow down and enjoy your stay.

One of my favorite parts of the stay was spending time on the front porch. Each morning, I started my day with a cup of coffee, watching the sun rise in the quiet.  In the evening, the rocking chairs became the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring Shipshewana and listen to the clip-clop of the horses’ hooves as they passed by.

Inside, the Serene Sanctuary tiny home feels spacious. Every inch of the home has been designed with comfort in mind. The home features two queen beds, including a main-floor bedroom and a loft sleeping area, making it ideal for couples, friends traveling together, or a small family.

Premium hotel-style mattresses and blackout blinds prepped for a restful night's sleep, while the fast Wi-Fi and smart TV added modern conveniences when I wanted to relax indoors.

A fully stocked kitchenette was waiting for me. It includes a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, dishes, glassware, and cooking essentials. Having the ability to prepare breakfast or enjoy a simple meal in the tiny home added another layer of convenience to the stay and was an economical piece

Relaxing Outdoor Spaces and Farm

While the interior is comfortable, the outdoor spaces are what truly make this property stand out. The front porch invites guests to sit back and enjoy the slower pace of Amish Country, while the private back patio offers comfortable seating and a fire pit for relaxing evenings outdoors.

Exploring Shipshewana from the Perfect Location

Another reason I would stay here again is the location. Some of Shipshewana's most popular attractions are only minutes away, making Serene Sanctuary an excellent home base for exploring the area.

I also highly recommend spending some time on the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail located right outside the front door. Stretching more than 16 miles through farmland, small towns, and beautiful countryside, it is one of the best ways to experience the natural beauty of Indiana Amish Country.
