The Lighting of Shipshewana Light Parade celebrates tradition, memories, and the kickoff to the Christmas season. In its 17th year, USA Today is nominating the event as Best Parade as part of its 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards feature articles. Voting is open to the public and can be done by following the link or scanning the QR code.

You can vote for The Lighting of Shipshewana from now through December 2nd at noon ET. 

Votes can be cast once per day. The top 10 will be selected for the article.

The Lighting of Shipshewana Light Parade is one of 20 nominations by USA Today. Other nominees include the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival in Chicago, and America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit.

The top 10 parades will be announced on Friday, December 6 on the USA Today website. A panel of judges selected parades from throughout the United States as nominations. The final 10 will be chosen by public votes. You can monitor the leaderboard to see where the parades currently rank.

The Lighting of Shipshewana is Saturday, November 9. You’ll want to plan your visit ahead of time!
