Riverwood Pottery features handmade pottery inspired by nature and designed for everyday use. Artisan Jesse Woodworth, a Hoosier through and through, creates the work and can often be found creating pottery in the shop during store hours. The inspiration for Jesse’s work comes from nature. Hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where he lived for 10 years, had a lasting impression on his creative process. Watching the iconic changing of Aspen leaves each fall prompted the creation of the Aspen Tree Tumbler and Aspen Tree Mug which can be used all year long to sip coffee from, cold drinks or use as decor. The Cow Hoof Mug was inspired from hours spent milking cows and looking at cow hooves each day on his grandpa’s dairy farm. Jesse and his family are the 6th generation of farmers in his family to live on and farm Riverdale Farm, located 5 miles southwest of Shipshewana.

Our shop, located on historic Morton street in downtown Shipshewana, is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm for shopping and watching up close the process of making pottery. We offer mugs, dinnerware, cups, home decor, gifts, and more. Folks can also shop with us on Etsy and we ship globally. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for shop updates and glimpses into how we create our work. We are anxious to meet you and learn how you use handmade pottery in your everyday life!
