If you’ve met Lora, than you know that she is hardworking, kind, and fun. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure, you can learn more from our quick interview below.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your life here in Shipshewana?

A: I relocated from my hometown 9 years ago to join the Shipshewana Trading Place team and have worked here since then. I have 3 children and live in Shipshewana with my husband and 2 youngest children. Our oldest is married and he and our daughter-in-law live nearby with their new baby girl of whom we are simply in love with😊!

Q: What do you love about living here?

A: I love this area because of the people. Everyone is so great to work with and to live with, from my work family to my neighbors, and church family. We couldn’t have picked a better place to raise our family. We are grateful of God’s blessings for us to enjoy this beautiful area and the people living here.

Q: What is the most interesting thing you’ve seen for sale at the auctions or market?

A: Oh my, we see a lot of interesting things selling out here from week-to-week, but we have a metal artist who sells some pretty unique creations that he makes out of upcycled materials that are really cool. I also love seeing some of the history that passes through all the way back to the Civil War. As for the flea market, I love the variety of things you find that range from the spices (not unique but a must-have) to the plants that I LOVE to put in my yard. Plus some pretty great finds and deals on all kinds of things from picnic supplies to unique collectibles and what-not!

You can usually find Lora at the Shipshewana Trading Place, making sure things run smoothly so everyone can find the treasures they’re looking for.
