Stores & Shops
Shopping is an adventure in Shipshewana!
Many of the qualities that make Shipshewana and LaGrange County special are the same things that make it a perfect shopping spot. A belief in quality workmanship, a slower pace of life, and goods that last a lifetime mean that there is likely something for everyone here.
Make sure to visit the Midwest’s largest Flea Market, from May through September and the year-round Weekly Antique Auctions. Plan to “shop ‘til you drop” walking the quaint Harrison Street Shops for assorted gifts and apparel at Lasting Impressions, practical and pretty items at Cornucopia, then enjoy discovering re-purposed home décor at 2 Chicks and a Chair. These plus many more shopping delights away you in downtown Shipshewana.
Venture into the Davis Mercantile next to find four floors (with elevators) containing 21 shops and a fully restored antique carousel, and on Historic Morton Street, you’ll find the extraordinary Teaberry Wood Products, Riverwood Pottery, Scherger’s Kettle Jams & Salsas, and many antique shops, including Rebecca Haarer Art & Antiques.
Head down the main road through Shipshewana, (St. Rd. 5 or S. Van Buren St.) to find more extraordinary shopping opportunities, including Yoder’s Shopping Center featuring quilt shops and a hardware/general store, Yoder’s Meat & Cheese, E&S Bulk Food Sales, and Yoder’s Popcorn which is located at the corner of 5&20.
If you’re looking for artisan-made products, Amish Cottage Shops or quilts and quilting supplies, Shipshewana has plenty of them! Stop into the Visitor’s Center to get guides to all of them or use the Off the Beaten Path map to track down stores like Silver Star Leather or B Honey. These are just a few of the incredible shopping options available, so plan ahead and have fun! Happy Shopping!
