Shipshewana, IN 46565
This twelve-sided barn is Indiana’s only non-wood polygonal barn, an architectural form considered obsolete after the 1930s. Menno S. Yoder designed and built the poured concrete barn in 1908 in hopes of owning a durable yet handsome barn. Although Yoder’s attempts to patent his design, the unusual barn serves as a testament to the innovative spirit of Indiana farmers. The barn also features multiple barn quilts.
